Reverse osmosis is used to produce highly purified water. Beyond that, reverse osmosis is used for recycling, wastewater treatment, and can even produce energy. What we really need to understand is how the process occurs.
Reverse Osmosis Filtration system works by forcing water through a special fine membrane. This is for eliminate impurities that may not be visible to the naked eye. These membranes remove impurities based on their size and shape. This means that particles larger than water molecules cannot pass through the filter. The membrane blocks harmful chemicals and impurities such as viruses, microparticles, irons, bacteria, amongst others. In fact, it can also remove chemicals dissolved in water, which other purification technologies can’t.
There are 5 major level of purification. Let’s take a closer look at how these filters work.
A pre-filter is a disposable part that is quite affordable and can be replaced very easily. Passing the water through a pre-filter first makes the water clear and ready for a deep purifying process through reverse osmosis or ultraviolet water purification. Using a pre-filter also protects the water purifiers from any damage.
2. Reverse Osmosis Membrane
The second filter on our list is the reverse osmosis membrane. The membrane is a synthetic plastic material that stops sodium, chlorine, and even the larger molecules such as urea, bacteria, and viruses.
3. UV Lamp
A UV water purifier exposes living organisms, such as bacteria, viruses, or cysts to a germicidal ultraviolet wavelength. The UV Ultraviolet rays penetrate the cells of bacteria, virus, cysts and destroy their ability to reproduce. Without this ability, these organisms cannot multiply and eventually die.
Ultrafiltration is one membrane filtration process that serves as a barrier to separate harmful bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants from clean water. It has larger pores and high permeability with less osmotic effects. It allows ultrafiltration to operate at relatively lower pressure than nanofiltration.
5. Post Filter
Using post filter gets rid of unpleasant smell from water and enhance water flavour. Post Filter used to enhance the taste of Water after RO Process. Also Removes residual Chlorine and other remaining Organic particles. This is the last stage in the Water Treatment Process.
An RO purifier is best suited for home as well as industrial usage. For best RO Purifiers contact True Nectar Water Filter Company.
